Give dad the gift of the night sky this Father’s Day.

And before you think of what you can buy him, think about where you can take him to enjoy an evening of stargazing. Observatories and planetariums offer great experiences, too.

But if you’re looking for a gift that you can wrap with a bow on top, here are some ideas for your dad or father figure.

TACTICAL LASER POINTER

Tactical Laser Pointer

It’s a pretty cool gadget for any guy, but it’s really fun to use when stargazing with family and friends. The powerful laser beam helps you point exactly at a single star or planet for great naked-eye stargazing adventures. This is one of my favorite stargazing tools. You can find it HERE on Amazon.

SOLAR SYSTEM GEM SET

If your dad loves marbles, gems, or cool rocks, he’ll love these beautiful representations of our planets in this gem set. You can find them HERE on Etsy.

PORTABLE STARGAZING LOUNGE CHAIR

Let dad get comfortable under the night sky with a zero gravity lounge chair. This set of two folds flat so he can take them to his favorite dark sky location with someone he loves. Get them HERE on Amazon.

CONSTELLATION WHISKEY GLASSES

If dad is really into the night sky and loves is nightcap, he’ll love these whiskey glasses that are etched with the constellations of the Northern Hemisphere. Get them HERE on Etsy.

“THE END OF NIGHT” by Paul Bogard

If dad likes to read, he’ll enjoy the storytelling style of The End of Night by Paul Bogard. This books is well-researched, but he’ll enjoy reading it as if it were great fiction. It’s also available as an audiobook on Audible, read by the author. Stay tuned for my interview with Paul Bogard on the Night Sky Tourist podcast later this summer. Get the book HERE on Paul Bogard’s website.
